Project 1: Baby Phoenix
Step 1: Baby Phoenix's Body
[All in Yellow or Orange Yarn] Magic Loop.
*At the end of each Rnd, do a slip stitch to link the first stitch, and make a chain stitch in next round (Join Rounds, See tutorial on page 8).
*All stitches are worked into both loops, unless instructed otherwise in the pattern.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic loop (6) (See tutorials)
To keep track of where you are, use a stitch marker to mark the beginning and end of each round.(See tutorials)
Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
Rnd 3: [sc, inc] x 6 (18)
Rnd 4-5: 18 sc (18)
Rnd 6: [2 sc, inc] x 6 (24)
Rnd 7: 24 sc (24)
Add the eyes between R4&5, with a 3-stitch space between them.(See tutorials)
Rnd 8: [sc, dec] x 8 (16)
Stuff the head.(See tutorials)
Rnd 9: dec x 8 (8)
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Thread a needle with the tail. Use it
to pull the yarn tail through the ftont loops of each stitch. Pull
tight to close the remaining gap. (See tutorials)
Step 2: Baby Phoenix's wings
[With Orange or Red yarn] Make 2.
1. ch 3 (3)
2. Start on second ch from hook(See tutorial), then do 1 sc, 1 hdc
*Fasten off leaving a long tail. (See tutorial)
*Thread a needle with tail. Use it to sew a wing on either side of each Body, between Rnds 6&7.
Step 3: Baby Phoenix's Tail
[With Orange or Red yarn] Make 1.
1. ch 5, start on second ch from
hook, 4 sl st.
2. ch 7, start on second ch from
hook, 6 sl st.
3. ch 5, start on second ch from
hook, 4 sl st.
*Fasten off leaving a long tail. (See tutorial)
*Use it to sew the Phoenix's tail
between rnds 7&8, right at the
back of the body.
Step 4: Baby Phoenix's Crest and Beak
[With Orange or Red yarn] Make 1.
1. ch 4, start on second ch from
hook, 3 sl st.
2. ch 4, start on second ch from
hook, 3 sl st.
*Fasten off leaving a long tail. (See tutorial)
*Thread a needle with tail. Use it
to sew the crest between Rnd 1
&2, right in front of the head.
Baby Phoenix's beak
Sew the Phoenix's claws between rnds 4&6, in the middle of
the eyes.

Step 5: Phoenix's Body
[All in Orange Yarn] Magic Loop.

Rnd 16: dec x 6 (6)
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Thread a needle with the tail. Use it
to pull the yarn tail through the ftont loops of each stitch. Pull
tight to close the remaining gap. (See tutorials)
Step 6: Phoenix's Tail
[With Red yarn] Make 1.
1. 6 sc in magic ring
2. ch 11, start on second ch
from hook, 10 sc, sl st to the
first sc in magic ring.
3. ch 15, start on second ch
from hook, 14 sc, sl st to the
second sc in magic ring.
4. ch 19, start on second ch
from hook, 18 sc, sl st to the
3rd sc in magic ring.
5. ch 19, start on second ch
from hook, 18 sc, sl st to the
4th sc in magic ring.
6. ch 15, start on second ch
from hook, 14 sc, sl st to the
5th sc in magic ring.
7. ch 11, start on second ch
from hook, 10 sc, sl st to the
6th sc in magic ring.
*Fasten off leaving a long tail. (See tutorial)
*Thread a needle with tail.
Use it to sew the Phoenix's
tail between rnds 9&12, right
at the back of the body.
Step 7: Phoenix's Tail
[With Orange and Red yarn] Make 2.
1. With yellow yarn, ch 4, start
on second ch from hook, 3 sc.
2. When reach the end of the
row, ch 1 and turn(See tutorial)
3. 1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc, ch 1 and turn
4. [sc, inc] * 2
5. Change red yarn(See tutorial). ch 1 and
turn
6. (sc, hdc, sc) in same st, repeat 6 times.
*Fasten off, cut the yarn and weave
in ends. (See tutorial)
*Thread a needle with
tail. Use it to sew a wing on
either side of each Phoenix,
between Rnds 9&10.
Step 8: Phoenix's Crest
[With Red yarn] Make 1.
1. ch 6, start on second ch from
hook, 5 sl st.
2. ch 8, start on second ch from
hook, 7 sl st.
3. ch 6, start on second ch from
hook, 5 sl st.
*Fasten off leaving a long tail.
*Thread a needle with
tail. Use it to sew the crest
between Rnd 1&2, right in
front of the head.
Step 9: Phoenix's Beak and Claws
[With Yellow yarn] Make 1.
1. 6 sc in magic ring
*Fasten off leaving a long tail.
*Thread a needle with tail.
Use it to sew the Phoenix's
brak between rnds 6&9.
Phoenix's Claws
Sew the Phoenix's claws between rnds 12&14.(See video)
Project 3: Eggshell
Step 10-1: Upper part of the eggshell
[With White yarn] Make 1.
Rnd 1: 12 dc in magic ring (12)
Rnd 2: [ch 3, start 2nd from hook, sc, hdc, skip 2 sts, sl st
to the round] * repeat 4 times
*Fasten off and weave in ends.
Step 10-2: Lower part of the eggshell
[With White yarn] Make 1.
Rnd 1: 12 dc in magic ring (12)
Rnd 2: [dc, 2 dc in next st] * 6 (18)
Rnd 3: [ch 3, start 2nd from hook, sc, hdc, skip 2 sts, sl st
to the round] * repeat 6 times
*Fasten off and weave in ends.
