5. Crochet in rows

When crocheting in rows, there’s a few things that patterns don't mention because they assume crocheters know what to do:

1. Start with a foundation chain

2. To begin the next row, unless otherwise specified in the pattern, skip the first chain from the hook. Then, insert the hook under the back loop of the second chain from the hook.

3. For the second row, crochet all stitches through the back loops of the foundation chain.

4. When you reach the end of the row, ch 1 and turn.

5. Please remember that the first stitch of a new row is crocheted into the second stitch from the hook. Additionally, ensure that the hook goes under both top loops of the stitches from the previous row.

6. Repeat steps 4-5 until you finish the pattern.
