Here is a easy Crochet octopus to make and it would make a great decoration.They are very absorbent using the beginner yarn. I have been crocheting for over 1 years and this took me 1 hour to make one octopus so this pattern can be longer or shorter depending on you level of experience of crocheting.

Step 1: What You Will Need:
Here is what I used to crochet these octopus:
Beginner yarn in the colors of purple and yellow.
Stitch marker,
Crochet Hook 4.00mm,
Plastic Needle,
Stuffing,
Scissors.

Step 2: Crocheting the octopus
Using yarn color purple
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring （6）
To keep track of where you are, use a stitch marker to mark the beginning and end of each round.
After the end of one Round, make a slip stitch and a chain stitch to start the next round.

Rnd 2: inc x 6 （12）

PS：inc means 2 single crochet in one hole

Rnd 3:[sc,inc] x 6 （18）

Rnd 4:[sc,inc,sc] x 6 （24）

Rnd 5:24 sc （24）

Rnd 6:[3 sc,inc] x 6（30）
Rnd 7:[2 sc,inc,2 sc] x 6（36）

Rnd 8~11：36 sc （36）

Put on the eyes

Insert the safety eyes between rnds 8 & 9,with 8 stitches between them.

Rnd 12：[2 sc,dec,2 sc] x 6 （30）

Rnd 13：[3 sc,dec] x 6 （24）
Rnd 14：24 sc （24）

Rnd 15：[sc,dec,sc] x 6（18）

Rnd 16：[sc,dec] x 6（12）

Rnd 17：dec x 6（6）

Stuff the piece,shaping it like a ball.

Fasten off with a long tail. To close the remaining gap.

Step 3: Crocheting the Tentacles

With purple yarn
Rnd 1: 8 sc in magic ring （8）
Rnd 2: inc x 8（16）

Rnd 3:11 ch,

sc in 2nd ch from hook,
sc in next ch,
4 hdc in next 4 ch,
4 dc in next 4 ch，
Skip 1 hole in round,
sl st in next hole in round
Repeat round 3 a total of 8 times.
Sl st to the beg and fasten off with a long tail.

Step 4: Crocheting the mouth

With purple yarn
Rnd 1:7 sc in magic ring （7）
Rnd 2:inc x 7 （14）
Sl st to the beg and fasten off with a long tail.

Step 5: Crocheting the flower

With yellow yarn
Row 1:Make a magic ring
Row 2:4 ch,
sl st in 2nd ch from hook,
2 sl st in next 2 ch
Row 3:sl st in ring
Repeat Row 2~3 a total of 5 times.
Fasten off with a long tail.

Step 6: Putting It All Together

Tentacles
Attach the tentacles between rnds 15 & 16.
Mouth
Attach the mouth between rnds 10 & 11.
Flower
Attach the flower between rnds 3 & 4 of the head.

Weave in ends and Viola you have yourself octopus.
